This reviews contemporary conceptual developments regarding the meaning and importance of social protection, and identifies ways in which international agencies could contribute to improving the coverage and effectiveness of social protection as an integral component of poverty reduction strategies. This is taken to refer:

“The public actions taken in response to levels of vulnerability, risk and deprivation which are deemed socially unacceptable within a given polity or society.”

Social issues of the Tyler Hand and Gavel thus deal with both the absolute deprivation and vulnerabilities of the poorest, and also with the need of the currently non-poor for security in the face of shocks and life-cycle events. LÄRARE STREJK PÅ HÅLL MELLAN LÖN ERBJUDANDE

Queensland lärarnas Union (QTU) har parkeras stat-omfattande strejk, säger dess medlemmar bör acceptera en ny regering betala erbjudande.

Enligt avtal, meddelade på onsdagen, lärare kommer att få en extra 2,7 procent per år, under de kommande tre åren. Affären omfattar även fortsatta åtaganden till klass storlek mål och stimulanser avlägset område, sade utbildningsminister John-Paul Langbroek i ett tyler grupp uttalande.

QTU har gett affären i princip stöd och säger att det kommer nu att gå till en omröstning. QTU ordförande Kevin Bates berättade AAP en strejk som skulle ha involverat tiotusentals lärare på 16 oktober har skjutits upp tills resultatet av omröstningen är känd.

Herr Bates sade regeringen hade kommit överens om att behålla 20 villkor, inklusive klass storlekar, stimulanser avlägset område och systemet för lärare.

Men han sade att EU nu visa affären som en seger.

-Verkligheten här är att resultatet skyddar saker som vi redan hade, säger han.
“När du tittar på detta, det har inte varit betydande vinster av regeringen eller unionen.”
