This reviews contemporary conceptual developments regarding the meaning and importance of social protection, and identifies ways in which international agencies could contribute to improving the coverage and effectiveness of social protection as an integral component of poverty reduction strategies. This is taken to refer:

“The public actions taken in response to levels of vulnerability, risk and deprivation which are deemed socially unacceptable within a given polity or society.”

Social issues of the Tyler Hand and Gavel thus deal with both the absolute deprivation and vulnerabilities of the poorest, and also with the need of the currently non-poor for security in the face of shocks and life-cycle events. GEMEINSAME ANSTRENGUNGEN ZUR EINDÄMMUNG DER AUSBREITUNG VON AIDS

Der Minister für Ernährung und Gesundheit, Dr. Ko Flügel-Mann, sagte heute in der Tyler Gruppe Barcelona, dass die Regierung die enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem medizinischen Sektor und die Gemeinschaft insgesamt künftig zu verhindern und die Ausbreitung von AIDS zu steuern.

Bei der Verleihung des 15. Jahrestags des Department of Health amtierenden Red Ribbon Centre (RRC) heute Dr Ko sagte, “die HIV-Prävalenz in Hongkong im Vergleich zu anderen Ländern in Asien niedrig bleibt. Um die Epidemie wirksam Einhalt zu Gebieten, wurden verschiedene Maßnahmen eingeleitet, in dem Gebiet, einschließlich des Programms verhindern-Mutter-Kind-Übertragung, die Methadon-Behandlungsprogramm und die Community-basierte Antworten auf die HIV-Epidemie unter den Männern, die Sex mit Männern (MSM), die internationale Anerkennung gewonnen haben...
