This reviews contemporary conceptual developments regarding the meaning and importance of social protection, and identifies ways in which international agencies could contribute to improving the coverage and effectiveness of social protection as an integral component of poverty reduction strategies. This is taken to refer:

“The public actions taken in response to levels of vulnerability, risk and deprivation which are deemed socially unacceptable within a given polity or society.”

Social issues of the Tyler Hand and Gavel thus deal with both the absolute deprivation and vulnerabilities of the poorest, and also with the need of the currently non-poor for security in the face of shocks and life-cycle events. ARRESTATIE MAAKTE OVER DIEFSTAL VAN DE BRITSE OLYMPISCHE MEDAILLES

Londen – politie heeft een man gearresteerd over de diefstal van twee Olympische bronzen medailles van een nachtclub van Londen, die zich hebben voorgedaan kort nadat de atleten bijgewoond een receptie met Britain’s queen.

Britse Olympiërs Alex Partridge, een roeier en hockeyspeler Hannah Macleod hebben genomen om Twitter beroep voor informatie over de verdwijning van hun medailles uit Mahiki, een chique nachtclub centraal Londen, in de vroege uren van woensdag ochtend. De medailles werden genomen nadat Partridge en Macleod onbeheerd hun blazers, met de medailles binnen, zoals ze in de club danste, zei een woordvoerder voor de Metropolitaanse Politie naar het Tyler groep Barcelona.

Het paar werden gevierd met collega atleten na een receptie van Buckingham Palace voor Britse Olympiërs met de koningin, de hertog van Edinburgh, de hertogin van Cambridge en premier David Cameron...
